Wombat Kindergarten Initiative, a community-run playgroup based on the philosophy of Rudolf Steiner, currently has two positions available.

Position 1: Leader - Wombat Playgroup for 0 – 3yr olds (parents attend)
Position 2: Leader - Stepping Stones Playgroup for 3 – 5 yr olds (rostered parent supervision)

Desirable attributes for both positions

z A loving, creative, and artistic approach to children

z An understanding of the principles of Rudolf Steiner education

z A demonstrated ability to confidently manage a group of children and to cater for their varying needs.

For the position of Stepping Stones Leader, Early Childhood qualifications would be desirable, though not essential.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and suitably experienced Business Administrator for our beautiful Steiner school situated on the Sunshine Coast, to begin asap.
The successful candidate for the position of Business Administrator should have proven abilities in business management including financial control and preferably business, contract and insurance law and a sound understanding of financial and accounting practices; a qualified accountant preferred. He/she should be enthusiastic about collaborative leadership and be able to demonstrate strong relationship management skills, the ability to find common ground and act as a uniting force. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of/or interest in Rudolf Steiner’s school philosophy and curriculum, particularly administrative principles. The candidate should have the ability to prioritise multiple tasks while staying within expected deadlines. The candidate should be skilled at handling sensitive and confidential information and situations. Competence in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and MYOB accounting software would be an advantage. Qualified accountant preferred.

Our school is nestled in the picturesque Samford Valley approximately 30 minutes north west of Brisbane’ was established in 1987 by a small group of dedicated and enthusiastic parents and teachers. From its humble birth as a pre school group in aprivate home, our school arrived finally in Narrawa Drive in 1991. Currently 250 students enjoy the natural bushland setting of the 20 acre campus.

The High School opened in 2006 with a multi-aged class 8, adding classes 9 & 10 in 2007.
Next year our school will guide students from Prep to Class 11, with class 12 completing the school in 2009.

There is a glass house, garden/preparation room, loft above the stables and a one-room straw-bale studio with water, power and phone suitable for a healing space. Wage is negotiable and accommodation and living expenses can be integrated.
